The climate emergency in Yorkshire and globally is more prevalent than ever and one way we can all enjoy helping make a change for the better is in our gardens.
“Together, our gardens are a vast living landscape. With an estimated 24 million gardens in the UK, the way they are cared for can make a big difference to the natural world” Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
Our green spaces are a lifeline for wildlife and we were amazed to learn from our friends at the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust that, together, all the gardens in the UK are larger than all of our national Nature Reserves combined. Imagine the impact we could have if we all did one or more new thing in our garden that benefitted local wildlife and helped nature recovery.
WILDLIFE GARDENING
Our gardens are as important for wildlife as they are for our wellbeing and enjoyment. They can provide a home and a valuable food source for beneficial insects and birds that will, in turn, reward us by managing unwanted pests and pollinating our plants.
There are lots of wonderful ways that we can attract local wildlife and support nature recovery in our gardens.
Our Four Pillars
We care passionately about how we do business and are proud to have a robust ‘Climate and Community’ commitment through our FOUR PILLARS that details our pathway to sustainability, the active role we play in our local community and the caring culture we have created for our people.
