We are building on our ambition to be one of the best employers in the UK

In just over a year, our team of more than 200 have not only enjoyed three wage rate increases and enhanced holiday and sick pay, but we’re especially proud to say we’ve introduced the real living wage for all employees over the age of 21 and boosted pay for all those under 20 in steps towards achieving the real living wage for all in the near future.

Our MD Mark Farnsworth shared his vision with the team at our recent update, “As an independently owned garden centre with a big ambition to be a great employer, introducing the real living wage has been a huge stride forward and we won’t stop there. We’re already working towards a company-wide real living wage that includes those in the team that are under 21 years of age, many of whom have already seen their rate of pay increase substantially in the recent review.”

We know that salary isn’t everything and that’s why so many of the recent changes to the way we care for our team have also been really well received.

Be it enhanced holiday and sick pay, flexible or home working where the role allows, wellbeing support, our monthly values awards and quarterly engagement surveys, not to mention great team facilities and fun initiatives and charity events to unite our team, we are proud to say we are a business that really cares for our employees.

As we are set to grow our team with the opening of Tingley Garden Centre and Mission Out, we recognise that our commitment to the team also make us an attractive and enjoyable place to work. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come despite the challenges of the pandemic and continue to build on our ambition to be a great place to work.
