We’re helping a Kirklees school with a garden centre role play area

High Bank Junior, Infant and Nursery School in Liversedge

As pupils prepare for a return to the classroom on 8th March, we’re delighted to have helped a local school to create a garden centre role play area.

We have provided seeds, compost, plant pots and signage for the early years role play area at High Bank Junior, Infant and Nursery School in Liversedge.

Emma Kear-Smith is the lead teacher in Reception and is delighted with the donation: “We always change our role play area so that it links with our topic. Our new topic is growing and changing so the garden centre role play area will help to bring to life all the things they have learnt about that topic, whilst sparking creativity and imagination through play.

“We are going to grow cress which we will use to make egg and cress sandwiches and we are also researching other plants to grow at this time of year. The children are excited about the growing topic and the gardening role play area and we’re grateful to Tong for helping us to make this happen.”

Our Marketing Assistant, James Beaumont said: “We love to see the enjoyment on children’s faces when they plant seeds and see them grow, so we’re happy to support Emma and Nursery Lead, Katie Inman with this project. We look forward to tasting the sandwiches!”
