It’s quite incredible that the simple bulb can work its magic over the Winter months to bring you beautiful flowers when Spring arrives. This is the time of year to plant these little wonders so pop in-store to see our extensive range and plant now to give your garden beautiful colour when Spring arrives!

Daffodils
You can’t beat their cheery welcome in spring. Look for dwarf varieties, tete-a-tete is always a best-seller but we also love Rip Van Winkle, a dwarf narcissi with a double flower.
Tulips
In a host of delicate as well as jewel colours, you can use tulips to create dramatic colour combinations or plant in blocks of single varieties for impact.
Snake’s Head Fritillary
One of Katie Rushworth’s favourites, their nodding bell-shaped flowers with chequerboard pattern always impress.
Muscari
Typically deep blue, their spikes are densely clustered with small flowers and they are brilliant in borders as well as containers.
Alliums
With their large showy pompom flowers, alliums always look striking in your borders, especially planted amongst grasses. They also look fantastic in pots, plant bulbs really close to each other for maximum impact.

When buying bulbs, always remember to choose bulbs that are firm, blemish-free and a good size for their variety, the experts at Tong will be able to help you. As a rule, you plant at a depth 2 to 3 times the bulb height and use bulb fibre to encourage fast root growth.
