Our favourite hellebores for winter interest
Hellebores are amongst our favourite plants that can be added to your garden to bring wonderful winter interest! More commonly known as ‘The Christmas Rose’, their nodding flower heads come in an array of beautiful colours and bloom from late winter into early spring.
These delicate, elegant flowers paired with striking evergreen foliage are a must have in your garden this winter. Our team have selected a few of our favourite varieties below…
Helleborus Pink Spotted Lady
A bushy, clump forming hellebore with pink saucer shaped flowers that are speckled with clusters of maroon dots.
Helleborus Niger
A firm favourite! This beautiful dazzling white hellebore boasts lots of nodding flower heads that stand tall within their dark green leather foliage.
Helleborus Maestro
A stunning variety that features delicate, dusky pink flower heads. Add this beautiful variety to your beds and borders to create an elegant display of colour.
Helleborus Foetidus
A quirky variety that has lime green bell shaped flowers and contrasting pink edges. This plant can grow up to 80cm and are a perfect way to add height and colour to your beds and borders.
Your hellebore will perform better in shady areas in your garden. Plant them beneath taller plants and shrubs or plant them in pots and containers on your patio.
