Join in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch!

At the end of January, the RSPB will host its 42nd Big Garden Birdwatch weekend! This is a huge citizen science project that asks volunteers to log the birds visiting their garden in a one-hour timeframe on the last weekend in January every year. More than half a million people took part last year and, with more of us based at home this year more than any other, many of us can get involved.

If you’d like to be a part of it, you’ll need to put out feeders now so birds are attracted to your garden and get used to feeding from your supply. Follow our guide to feeing the birds by clicking here!

When you sign up, you’ll receive your information plus useful guides then, over the weekend of the 29-31 January, dedicate just one hour of your time to count the birds you see in your garden and submit the results. It’s that easy!
