Grass Hoppers is a safe and secure play space for families set in the grounds of Tong Garden Centre. You’ll find a fantastic soft indoor play area and huge outdoor adventure playground where children up to the age of 10 years old can enjoy proper playtime! There’s also great grub including pizzas and award winning ice cream in Woody’s Kitchen!

Pumpkin Picking
Available during every session from £2.49
Pick up a pumpkin at Grass Hoppers Tong and Tingley’s very own pumpkin patch! Speak to our team at reception to purchase your ticket before heading to the outdoor play area to pick your perfect pumpkin!
Our pumpkins come in all different shapes and sizes – certain to light up your Halloween! You’ll then be able to pick a Halloween-themed stencil to take home and carve your petrifying pumpkin.
And don’t forget, once you’ve carved your pumpkin, to share your creations with us!

Santa’s Grotto
Magical Christmas Party

Journey though the polar picnic party, festive forest feast and reindeer barn dance as Santa’s elves share stories about how all the animal helpers celebrate Christmas. Then it’s on to Santa’s grotto to meet Father Christmas and choose a toy from his toyshop.
Join the elves at Santa school as they play and learn how to be a brilliant elf. Journey through the polar playground, Christmas classroom and graduation forest before making your way to Santa’s grotto to meet Father Christmas and choose a toy from his toyshop.
Journey through the festive forest as the Christmas elves share how Santa’s magical robins make sure all the letters are sorted in time to make wishes come true! Then it’s on to Santa’s grotto to meet Father Christmas and choose a toy from his toyshop.
Join us for a magical morning at Blooms and Hattie’s Kitchen at Tong, Tingley, Otley & Bingley Garden Centres with our Breakfast with Santa experience.
Enjoy a wonderful family experience where you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast and receive an early Christmas gift from Santa. Hosted by our elves, there will also be party games and Christmas songs to get you in the festive spirit!
Our play frame has been specially designed with 7 key learning skills in mind to help your little ones develop and grow through fantastically fun play. Designed to keep kids entertained, our bespoke play frame equipment includes slides, swings, rope bridges and tunnels, challenge decks and a mirror infinity deck.
Baby Toddler Zone
We want our younger visitors to enjoy the best experience ever! This huge space is exclusively for babies and toddlers with lots of exciting features including an agility balance soft climbing frame, activity rings, mini ball juggler and a twin-lane wavy open slide. Don’t miss the interactive talking tree and, in the sensory corner, you’ll find a state-of–the-art eye spy action panel. We’ve also included seating in this area for adults to facilitate play.
Role Play Zone
Imagination knows no limits and the three settings in our role play zone will create the perfect place for creative play.
The Sport’s Court
Perfect for older children, the sport’s court is a contained area and includes basketball hoops and an interactive ‘Beat the Goalie’ game.
Wow Features
Big interactive piano for everyone to enjoy, rocky steps, mirror infinity deck, racing slide, 4 lane wavy slide and tube slide, tarzan swings, racing aerial glide, spider web ropes, zig zag climbers, webbing tower and much more …..
For fabulous fun, bounce about on our two giant outdoor inflatable pillows! One of the pillows is even in an open-sided marquee to protect you from sunshine and showers.
Flash’s Zip Wire & Trim Trail
Climb, zoom and play in the great wooden adventure area with zip wire, monkey bars, rope ladders and much more.
Duggy’s Giant Sand Pit
No need to head to the beach… dig and build in the giant sand pit!
Shimmer’s Swings & Slides
For some traditional fun on the swings, climbing frames, slides and see-saw, head to Shimmer’s play area!
Blaze’s Race Track
Blaze the snail challenges you to racing fun in his coin-operated cars. Choose your car and off you go for a race around the track! Please note that this closes half an hour before closing time.
Please note, a ride costs £1 which can be inserted in each car.
Dotty’s Pre-School Play
Playtime for tots in Dotty’s is exclusively for pre-schoolers with playhouses and outdoor toys perfect for under 3s.
When hungry tummies start to rumble, Woody’s Kitchen has something yummy on the menu for you to enjoy!
Great grub is available every day for kids and grown ups including breakfast, light bites, paninis and jacket potatoes plus our infamous Hearty’s food hall burger and Woody’s Pizzas, all made fresh for you every day!
Please note that the Ice Cream counter, Woody’s Kitchen & Burger van will all close 15 minutes before the end of each play session.
All food and drink must be consumed in the outdoor play area. Food and drink is not allowed to be consumed whilst in the garden centre.
