Christmas Eve Boxes

With Christmas day getting closer it is time to start thinking about Christmas eve boxes. The boxes of festive treats are becoming as much a trend as leaving out milk for Santa and carrots for Rudolph! So if the children (or adults!) are going crazy with anticipation for the big day and cannot contain their excitement anymore for Santa’s arrival, then Christmas Eve Boxes may provide a much-needed distraction!

So what is a Christmas Eve box?

A Christmas eve box is filled with fun gifts to break up the anticipation of the big day itself and to start the fun early! It Is believed this tradition has stemmed from the German tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve.

You might want to fill the box with snacks, toys, books, and cozy clothes, whatever you choose it is your time to be creative and appeal to your recipients’ personalities.

To help you starting crafting your Christmas eve boxes we have put together a few ideas for Children and adults below.

Books

Once the excitement of opening the Christmas eve box is over it’s time to get settled with a sweet treat and a festive read!

Jigsaws

Christmas jigsaw puzzles are a wonderful way to spend time with the family on Christmas Eve and a great way to get into the festive spirit.

Scented Candles

Christmas-scented candles don’t only bring festive cheer into the home but they also fill the air with festive cheer.

Sweet Treats

Candy canes and hot chocolate are the most perfect accompaniment for when you are snuggly on the sofa watching Christmas films.

Remember they don’t have to cost lots of money! Make handmade presents, bake some treats or add a handwritten letter in the box. Personalised present can be crafted not bought. After all it’s the thought that counts!
