We helped TV gardener David Domoney with a heartfelt garden makeover in Huddersfield
When respected horticulturalist and TV gardener, David Domoney reached out to the team at Pennine Garden Centre to help with a garden makeover for a Huddersfield woman, we were only too happy to help!
David, resident gardener on ITV’s This Morning programme, came to the rescue of Andrea Turner, whose dream of creating a garden oasis to enjoy with her terminally ill mother was ruined by a faulty garden furniture delivery. Having done a sell out Masterclass at Tong earlier in the year, David appealed to the team at Shelley to provide plants and people to help the makeover happen.
The team at Pennine supplied over £1,000 of plants and a team of eight, including Commercial Plant Manager Marc Salama, Marketing Content and Campaign Manager Harriet Hardiment and five members of the Pennine team, to help transform the garden into a holiday-inspired outdoor living space.
“The team at Pennine directed David to plants that would work equally well in pots and the raised beds, and we’re delighted with the outcome. The lush foliage of the specimen Fatsia japonica and Trachycarpus fortunei gives a real holiday vibe and sets off the pops of colour from the perennial Echinacea in the beds and the Chrysanthemums in the wall baskets,” said Marc.
Harriet added: “Plants and community are at the heart of our business, so we were absolutely delighted to be asked to take part in this garden makeover for such lovely and deserving ladies.”
David and his team had just two hours for the makeover, which was shown live on ITV on 13th August. Our fabulous team helped with planting and painting to complete the makeover in time.
